Job Summary

Young Community Developers is seeking a highly motivated Life Coach to join our Reentry Services team. As a Life Coach, you will work closely with program participants to provide court advocacy, case management, barrier support, and job placement assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange for participant support services as necessary and refer clients to appropriate, timely treatment, support, and resources.
  • Drive participants between home and other locations in agency van and/or personal vehicle when necessary, with Director's approval.
  • Receive client referrals, make contact for the initial intake, perform safety risk assessment, and create Individual Service Plans for each assigned participant.
  • Maintain consistent weekly contact and communication with clients and conduct individual counseling sessions for participants to gauge the level of services reentry participants require.
  • Identify, pursue, and establish strategic relationships with potential host employment sites toward long-term partnerships.
  • Provide job search and placement assistance to clients, and job retention services for both the client and employer/host-site during placement and post-placement.
  • Partner with clients to strategically map appropriate short- and long-term employment objectives; provide corresponding job development to support the client throughout the job search.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience including lived experience, justice system navigation, documentation experience, CRM system management, and ability to relate to youth.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desired.
  • Ability to meet needs of the community by working nontraditional hours as needed, which may include evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and the ability and willingness to work with economically and culturally diverse clientele from various professional and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Experience in staffing, recruiting, employment coaching, job development, and/or other relevant/transferable work experience.
  • Knowledge of the Bay Area's labor market including construction, technology, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, medical, and/or finance preferred.
  • Self-motivated, well organized, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and meet goal objectives; excellent team player.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Young Community Developers Inc.
  • Demonstrate competency with using Microsoft Office Suite, Google platform, Zoom, and other technology platforms.
  • Candidates must possess a valid California Driver's License and clean driving record.
