Student Employee - Presidential Suite

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Position:Student Employee

Department: Presidential Suite

Classification: Part-time, Non-benefit eligible

Duties:

1. Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the Presidential Suite.
2. Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.
3. Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures).
4. Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
5. Collect, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
6. Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
7. Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as photocopying, sorting and spreadsheets.

Requirements and skills:
-Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office-Representative or position in the Service Industry
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
-Professional attitude and appearance
-Solid written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
-Excellent organizational skills
-Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability toprioritize tasks
-Customer service attitude
-High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled Benedictinestudent in good standing.
  • Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyrequired to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk;use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
    This positionrequires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to20 pounds.
    Use of computerscreen, phone and customer service.
    May require bending,or sitting for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by thisjob include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    The following ofcampus specific guidelines for pandemic protocols is required.
  • Training: As a Universityemployee you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHArelated training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will beconducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings requiredby Benedictine University.
  • Location: Presidential Suite

  • Hours per week: 10 - 15hours
  • Days/Times Preferred: M-F/8:30am - 4:30pm
