Guest Services Representative

This position provides excellent customer support to Recreation Centers. The ideal representative will be available evenings and on Saturdays, as well as provide occasional after-hours supervision of the facility. The Cashier greets and assists all patrons who enter the Center and answers incoming phone calls. Incumbent is responsible for providing general information pertaining to the Center, site-specific details and the Parks, Recreation, Library & Golf Department. The representative will process class registrations, pass memberships and daily sales. Receives and records payments and enforces policies and procedures while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude. The representative functions as part of a team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and assist all persons entering the Center, in a professional, patient and pleasant manner, and provide customer service by assisting the public with accurate information, either in person or over the phone.
- Effectively explains all benefits of membership; processes membership cards, parking permits and gives facility tours.
- Answer incoming phone calls in a professional, pleasant manner and transfer calls to the appropriate staff.
- Process class registrations, Point-of-Sale items such as special event tickets, and pro shop items and refunds maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
- Answer questions pertaining to all facets of the Parks, Recreation, Library and Golf areas, activities and programs.
- Enforce all Center policies, rules and regulations while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.
- Supervise activities to ensure Center and participant safety.
- Occasionally performs after-hour supervision including closing and securing the Center at the close of business.
- Perform light custodial duties as needed such as spot clean up, as well as routine equipment and facility sanitization.
- Able to work on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Frequent review of the website and communication regarding information updates
- Additional duties may include but are not limited to filing, calling waiting lists, attendance tracking for excursions, and occasionally providing administrative support for the Recreation Supervisor and Coordinator as needed.

DESIRED MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge: General knowledge of office practices and procedures, phone etiquette, basic filing, and strong customer service skills. Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR and AED certifications, required within a reasonable amount of time from employment.
Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and members; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; alphabetize; spell; Operates office equipment, which includes the following: Computer; comfortable with basic operation systems such as Microsoft Word & Excel copier/fax. Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Physical capabilities involve sitting, standing, crouching, kneeling, and walking for extended periods.
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Previous work-related training and experience or guest service equivalent training and experience specifically with cash handling.

$15.46 - $23.20/Hourly Rate
