Below are some details about the position: BENEFITS: YES PAY: $41 to 55 an hour depending on experience SCHEDULE/ENVIRONMENT: On-site, Travel required approximately 25% of the time. Relocation Assistance Provided Description: We are looking for a Controls engineer who can program Siemens PLCs from scratch. They will be responsible for fulfilling project assignments, individually or as part of a project team. Assignments may include involvement in multiple projects simultaneously. The Controls engineer will program, troubleshoot, and commission for the first 80% of a project. They will usually work on 2-3 projects at a time. During initial phase of the project life cycle they are working with Project managers as well as Design engineers. Technical writing skills are vital so that the engineer is able to easily communicate technical information to internal partners as well as customers. Towards the end of the project, they would complete Factory Acceptance Tests where all tests and simulations are performed. This is when they show customer how to operate the machinery. Then, the machine is disassembled and shipped to customer. Controls engineer will then be responsible for helping commission equipment and start up at customer site.This individual must be able to:-Provide engineering detail to and work with internal drafting resources to develop drawings.-Develop technical documentation and specifications.-Write Siemens PLC and HMI application software from Scratch-Configure AC / DC drive equipment.-Develop system test plan documents, simulation code, and perform system testing.-Coordinate with project management, technical leads, and/or end customers to commission systems.MUST HAVES: -Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation-Aptitude in programming/configuring Siemens PLC's. -Ability to program from scratch -Heavy Industrial Automation experience-Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, software and complimentary areas.-Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Visio-Communication skills both written and verbal are required.
