Job Description

ANGARAI is looking for an Environmental Compliance Manager specializing in erosion and sediment control, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization adheres to environmental regulations and best practices related to erosion and sediment control. You will oversee the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of erosion and sediment control devices across our projects. Your responsibilities will also involve developing and maintaining compliance programs, collaborating with various stakeholders, and staying updated on relevant regulations and industry trends.

Major Roles and Responsibilities The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about federal, state, and local environmental regulations and ensure the organization's projects comply with them. Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to project teams and stakeholders. Assist in obtaining necessary permits related to erosion and sediment control.
  • Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Development: Collaborate with engineers and environmental consultants to develop site-specific erosion and sediment control plans. Ensure plans are comprehensive, effective, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring and Inspection: Establish monitoring and inspection protocols to assess the effectiveness of erosion and sediment control measures. Conduct regular site inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance. Document and report findings and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to project teams and contractors on erosion and sediment control best practices. Foster a culture of environmental stewardship and compliance within the organization.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of erosion and sediment control activities, inspections, and compliance documentation. Prepare reports for regulatory agencies as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving erosion and sediment control practices and implement process enhancements. Stay current with industry trends, research, and technological advancements related to erosion and sediment control.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and community stakeholders to build positive relationships. Respond to inquiries and concerns related to erosion and sediment control.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications (eg, CPESC, CISEC) are a plus.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in environmental compliance management, specifically in erosion and sediment control.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to erosion and sediment control.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
