The individual in this position works closely with the Global Sourcing Commodity Manager and Design Engineering to ensure quality requirements are communicated, understood and implemented at supplier locations. The ideal candidate also has strong compliance-related knowledge.Job Description ContinuedHow You Will Help:Effectively communicate the company's quality requirements to suppliers and act as the main point of contact with suppliers regarding quality issues.Operate in compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines and management expectations.Support New Supplier and/or New Product qualification.Perform on-site supplier quality system audits, as necessary, to ensure suppliers have implemented an appropriate quality system to ensure all design, quality, and production requirements can be met.Develop test inspection criteria for evaluation of Field Returns providing reports and resolutionIssue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) as needed for product found nonconforming in inventory or as returned for warranty credit by customers.Ensure timely and adequate closure of SCARs to prevent the reoccurrence of product discrepancies and eliminate process or quality system weaknesses.Collect data and compile appropriate KPI reports that show supplier quality trends and ultimately the effectiveness of the company's supplier quality program. (i.e.: COQ, PPM)Enable the use of basic quality tools and statistical techniques during problem solving and quality improvement activities.Interact with globally recognized independent product safety organizations, (UL, FM, VDS, IAPMO, etc.) to ensure compliance with their requirements, product listings and approvals.Coordinate containment and resolution of product quarantines.Support the company's Mill/Material Test Report system for sourced suppliers.Prepare reports and presentations for suppliers and internal departments.Perform other Quality related duties and responsibilities as assigned.What You Will Have: Degree in Engineering and/or equivalent quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Word, Excel and Power PointKnowledge of various manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, forging, metal stamping, assembly and test.Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF 16949, AS9100 or similar quality systemsWorking knowledge of industry standards ASME, ASTM, ANSI, etc.Knowledge of product safety organizations such as UL, FM, NSF, VDS, LPCB, etc.Knowledge of REACH, RoHS, environmental regulations, systems and controls.Knowledge of quality related tools such as 5-whys/how's, 8D, cause and effect diagrams, check sheets, etc.Knowledge of quality related manufacturing systems including SQDC, 5S/6S, mistake proofing, material product traceability, lean six sigma.Ability to travel 10-20% to conduct supplier evaluations and/or audits as required.ASC Engineered Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
