Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for a Systems Engineering Technical Specialist for a large automotive customer in the Detroit area. This candidte will be joining the Vehicle Hardware Systems Engineering team within a leadership role -- supporting engineers while being hands on when necessary. The Systems Engineering Technical Specialist will be responsible for leading and directing investigating systems issues and bringing to resolution, as well as developing alternative "Plan B" architectures + sub systems using SE toolbox. This person will also be responsible for the following areas:

  • Vehicle Systems and CAE Tool Benchmarking
  • Requirements Challenge (as part of SysML), CAE Process + Metrics (ex. Joint Design/Component/System Durability Metrics)
  • Signoff of systems models with specific signoff responsibility before senior level
  • Technical facilitation of X-Functional Attribute Issues/Firefighting
  • Coach, mentor, and train - but also willing to be hands on with the product
  • Introduce new technologies and tools (such as AI)
  • Understands the upfront design, verification plan and methods, and industrialization process
  • Contribute to and advocate best practices for Systems Engineering and to be willing to learn and incorporate MBSE into methodology.
