DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review of 50+ domestic and international affiliate financial statements on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Preparation and review of the month end closing electronic SharePoint binder and related SOX control documentation
  • Coordinate completion and review of quarterly corporate schedules and other information requests
  • Preparation and review of quarterly division disclosure deliverables used by Corporate Accounting in footnotes and other public disclosures - 10K/10Q
  • Review and approval of all SOG check, ach and wire payments
  • Review of PeopleSoft general ledger entries, SOG bank reconciliations and SOG new vendor setup or change forms
  • PeopleSoft general ledger account and tree structure oversight
  • Creation and maintenance of financial reporting layouts using PeopleSoft Nvision reporting
  • Technical accounting research and preparation or review of associated memos to support accounting conclusions in financial statements
  • Preparation of annual standalone report including financial statements and footnotes for Seaboard Overseas Limited
  • Review of quarterly standalone financial statements for Seaboard Overseas Limited
  • Hedging execution of foreign exchange transactions on 360T
  • Review affiliate year-end audit reports and associated reconciliations/explanations to financial statements
  • Integration of newly acquired affiliates into division accounting, control, and financial reporting structure
  • Assist staff with affiliate financial statement review and uploading to PeopleSoft as needed
  • Oversight of direct reports, associated scorecards, and performance reviews
  • Ad hoc reporting requests from Executive Management
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years job-related experience
  • Bachelor's degree, Accounting required
  • US CPA required
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with reporting financial in accordance with US GAAP
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financial a plus
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with senior management and all affiliate location management
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, especially as it relates to presenting technical accounting concepts with the ability to clearly and confidently communicate issues and any necessary changes with affiliate financial statements
  • Ability to effectively lead affiliates through the process of identifying and resolving issues with their monthly financial statements in a timely manner
  • High attention to detail and deadline-oriented
  • Highly organized with the ability to keep track of accounting issues and follow-up for over 50+ financial statements on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff to achieve monthly objectives by setting clear and attainable goals while providing guidance when necessary
  • Basic knowledge of one or more languages is a plus (French, Spanish)
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% domestic and internationally
