Description: The Accounts Payable Accountant reports to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and is generally responsible for ensuring that authorized obligations of the company are recorded in an accurate and timely manner and the subsequent payments of these obligations are processed in accordance with company policy. Accounts Payable is also responsible for maintaining W9 files, A/P vendor files and project files in accordance with company policy and requirements. Additionally, the accounts payable is responsible for ensuring that all records related to IRS 1099 requirements are maintained and 1099 reporting requirements are met.

Fundamental Components:
  • Process check requests and expense reports on a regular basis
  • Accurately review, code and process vendor invoices
  • Perform monthly reconciliations
  • Maintain many vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Perform data entry associated with accounts payable
  • Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
  • Audit and process credit card bills
  • Address and respond to vendor inquiries
Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma, Associate's degree in Accounting preferred
  • 2-3 years' experience with accounts payable or general accounting
  • Proficient Microsoft Office, including Excel, knowledge and skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Strong analytic abilities
Supervisor Responsibility: None

Work Environment: The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Must be able to work around high demand non-climate control manufacturing setting.

Travel: No travel is expected for this position.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance : Must be authorized to work in the United States.
