Pittsburgh CLO is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.
The Pittsburgh CLO, hailed as one of the nations premier regional theaters, is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable individual to serve as a Receptionist for its Academy of Musical Theater. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of the Education Department, reporting to the Director of Education. Responsibilities include acting as receptionist for the CLO Academy of Musical Theater and its associated education programs, as well as providing administrative support for the Education Department staff and programs.
What youll do:
- Greet and direct all students, visitors and vendors
- Answer and direct all incoming phone calls
- Assist patrons with registration questions
- Maintain student enrollment and attendance records
- Provide program information and customer service support when appropriate
- Act as the onsite authority when the Principal is not present for classes
- Prepare classrooms for virtual learning
- Close up and secure the CLO Academy at the end of the classes
- Assist with promoting the CLO Academy on social media by taking photos and sharing with Education and Marketing department
- Assist with ticket sales and marketing of Academy public performances and/or events.
- Conduct audience/student research
- Perform administrative and office support for multiple supervisors and assist other staff with work including word processing, data entry, copying, filing, etc.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Education or the Principal to advance the goals and objectives of the Pittsburgh CLO and its education programs
- Other duties as assigned
What youll need:
- Ability to work, communicate with, and relate to children and young adults
- Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations and be the on-site authority
- Situational awareness
- Excellent organizational and communication skills written and verbal
- Superb customer service skills
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office programs including Word & Excel
- Familiarity with web-based communication and website content management, including current social media
- Must be a creative self-starter who works well as part of a small team
- High attention to detail and strong, consistent, follow-through on tasks and initiatives
- State of PA required educational clearances
- CPR Certification or willingness to get certified
What we offer:
- Average Hours: Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm; Sunday 11:00am-4:00pm; weekdays as needed and available
- Schedule may fluctuate based on class and rehearsal schedule
- Part-time, non-exempt position with a dynamic organization and engaged team, up to 28 hours per week.
- Hourly compensation starting at $12.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
