Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for our client in Raleigh, NC to drive continuous improvement in all phases of the production cycle by utilizing Lean/Six Sigma principles and methodologies in making process enhancements and eliminating waste.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement in all phases of the production cycle
- Maximize manufacturing effectiveness through identification and elimination of major forms of waste
- Identify root causes of performance gaps through use of Lean and Six Sigma tools
- Assist in plant layout and work station design
- Research and formulate plans to accomplish major projects, including Client estimates, cost estimates and work measuring devices such as milestones or critical path charts
- Develop and write proposals for production processes
- Determine appropriate assembly fixtures
- Review and select required special tooling and equipment
- Identify process improvements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity utilizing lean and six sigma principles and methodologies
- Establish Client requirements, line and sub-assembly balancing data, and expectancy time performance
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or in a related field
- Experience in plant/facility layout and work station design
- Experience working within the heavy equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry
- Operations with application of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel
- Prior experience with managing data and producing charts in Excel
- Project management skills working with multiple priorities and the ability to manage large quantities of data
- Analytical, critical thinking, attention to detail, communication and patterning skills to evaluate data and provide recommendations
