GENERAL SUMMARY

The Powertrain Engineer applies engineering and design principles for the design, development, test and release of military powertrain systems and components. Centered around diesel engines and automatic transmissions product design and development.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Powertrain component, subsystem, and system level design, development testing and release
  • BoM development and management
  • Conduct component and system level FEA, CFD, 1D cooling/performance-based calculations
  • DFMEA, DVP&R, and production PPAP requirements
  • Development of SoW for effort to be completed (internal or external)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and IPTs through the generation of briefs
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter, NX, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or related degree
  • 7+ yrs. experience in the design and release of diesel engines and automatic transmissions
  • Engine experience build or modification of diesel engines and/or transmissions, preferred
  • Previous military product development a plus
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office software
