Verifies and registers patients in the SMS system. Explains all forms used and securing signatures on consents, authorization and financial agreement forms. Verifies and pre-certifies patient's insurance information and ensures that information for billing is complete and accurate. Directs patient to the appropriate clinical area/nursing unit. Answers incoming calls to Admissions and performs required reception duties. Certifications/Degree Requirements, Skill Sets, Minimum Experience Required: •High school diploma or equivalent required. •Demonstrated coursework with Medical Terminology •Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a healthcare environment with direct patient contact •Previous registration experience with a thorough understanding of third party insurance coverage •Successful completion of SMS/IDX certification •Essential understanding of computer data entry in Windows environment •Available to work rotating and flexible schedules •Excellent verbal and written skills •Maintains a professional appearance •Consistently demonstrates a high degree of customer service skills We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
