If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you At the Vancouver Housing Authority (VHA) we work closely with local governments and other community partners throughout Clark County to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and help families break the cycle of poverty. We provide affordable housing and housing assistance to low-income residents in Clark County. The Service Coordinator 1 links residents to supportive services provided by public agencies or private practitioners within the general community. This position assesses service needs, determines eligibility for public services and provides referral assistance. Your skills and abilities will support our mission as you:Provide general care coordination including intake and referral services to all residents linking them to applicable service providers in the general community (e.g., case management, personal assistance, transportation, counseling, preventive health screening/wellness, parenting classes, credit counseling, and legal advocacy).Establish linkages with appropriate agencies and service providers in the community and set up a directory of providers for use by both staff and residents. Monitor the ongoing provision of services from community agencies and keeps the case management and provider agency current regarding the progress of the individual. Manages the provision of supportive service where appropriate.Educate residents on service availability, application procedures, resident rights, obligations of tenancy or coordinate such training and provide advocacy as appropriate.Help residents build informal support networks with volunteers and/or other residents, family, and friends.Educate other staff on the issues related to area of specialty to help them to better work with and assist the residents.Meet all assigned program requirements including reporting, tracking, administrative functions, and any required continuing education unit (CEU).Pay and BenefitsThe starting salary range is $3,509 - $3,860 per month based on experience. In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities Act, the full salary range is $3,509 - $5,008 per month. Full-time, non-exempt, union-represented position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance.Benefits package also includes 9.03% paid into WA PERS by employer, 12 company paid holidays, and generous paid time off accrual.Meaningful work that addresses affordable housing and homelessness in our community. Requirements BA in Social Service or related field preferred.At least two (2) years of direct service experience working with older adults, families, or individuals with disabilities.Experience and/or training in the aging process, family services and disability services.Experience and/or training in determining eligibility for and procedures of Federal and applicable State entitlement programs.Experience and/or training in the legal liability issues related to providing service coordination, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health issues, and mandated reporting around abuse and/or neglect of children or vulnerable adults per RCW 74.34.020 and 26.44.030.Valid driver's license.A cover letter and resume are required when applying for this position.
