Description

Position Summary

The Compliance Analyst role requires an individual who possess an understanding of lending and deposit processes and a comprehension of banking laws and regulations, including but not limited to BSA, AML, OFAC, CIP, HMDA, TILA, RESPA, ECOA, FCRA, SCRA, MLA, Fair Lending, Regulation E, and Regulation CC. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a lifelong learner, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve Texas Tech CU members and employees pleasantly and professionally in accordance with Texas Tech CU core values of Trust, Respect, Excellence, Kindness, and Stewardship.
  • Supports the strategic priorities of the Credit Union through interpreting, analyzing, and understanding loan, deposit, and member data.
  • Performs and assists with compliance reviews.
  • Reviews transactions to detect suspicious activity.
  • Maintains confidentiality in handling all member and staff information in accordance with Texas Tech CU Personnel Policy.
  • Reviews and completes BSA report filings.
  • Monitors and responds to BSA/AML system alerts.
  • Verifies loan information through imaged documents and loan origination systems.
  • Reviews loan files to validate information on the HMDA LAR.
  • Utilizes various software applications to run periodic reports and facilitate file, process, and policy corrections, as needed.
  • Collaborates with other departments as needed to remedy compliance issues.
  • Assists in the coordination and support of compliance audits and examinations.
  • Facilitates and provides training on various banking topics
  • Responds to requests in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Compliance Manager.
Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in compliance or banking highly desired.
  • Associates degree or higher preferred but not required.
  • Experience with reviewing deposit, loan, and CIP documents preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
  • Possess an analytical mindset, organized, precise, and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrates a constant willingness to learn and grow; sets and meets goals.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and exercise judgment.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
