UCT is looking for a talented IT Support Specialist to join us in Fremont, CA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:As a crucial member of the UCT Information Technology Team, this role has the responsibility of overseeing all aspects of Information Technology Support Services, which includes managing and supporting desktops, laptops, communication hardware/software, and office systems. The position is situated in our Fremont location, with occasional visits required to our San Jose facility.

  • Respond to requests for IT assistance via phone, internal ticketing system, and email
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Perform on/off-boarding of Active Directory accounts via PS scripts.
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Assist with user training.
  • Activate and configure iOS devices.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to support other sites
  • Track and route problems, requests, and document resolutions
  • Inventory management of firm hardware, software, and accessories
  • Miscellaneous IT tasks and duties, as required
  • Rolls out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources
  • Plans, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan
  • Troubleshoot user-reported software issues and assist in the successful resolution of those issues.
  • Ability to install and repair CAT5/6 cabling and connections
  • Prioritize work and address multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ensure each client you speak to is extremely happy and satisfied, providing the best customer service.
  • Create trouble tickets, receive troubleshooting requests, and create reports.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • 3+years of current experience in desktop support on a medium to large-size network
  • Understanding of Windows 2008/2019 Domain environment, Active Directory, servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies
  • Technically adept with experience or interest in supporting customers.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Punctual and respectful of others' schedules and meeting deadlines promptly.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and desktop products.
  • Demonstrated ability to support networked printers, photocopiers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
  • Ability to manage priorities and expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized team player.
  • Ambitious, Goal Driven, and possess a Positive Attitude.
  • Dependable transportation and valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of VOIP systems
  • Basic knowledge of physical Ethernet cabling
  • Basic knowledge of shared storage (NAS/SAN)
  • Basic knowledge of ethernet networks
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science or related field

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including variable pay and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
