Client: A major global corporation and a leader in their industry operating over 350 manufacturing facilities with annual revenue earnings over $21 B and employing over 15,000.

Overview:

This position will manage capital projects and initiatives related to a manufacturing facility

construction/expansion and equipment upgrade projects to meet business, schedule, and budget objectives. This position supports the end-to-end manager and will focus on the operational side of these projects including the evaluation and implementation of business processes, equipment, systems and technology.

Role:

  • Support E2E with coaching, scope development, risks, and key milestone identification.
  • Facilitate key project workshops including VSED, kickstart, current operations assessment, project defect analysis. co-facilitate scope alignment.
  • Lead identification of operational requirements and success criteria development.
  • Provide input to and track operational budget and operational deliverables in project schedule.
  • Develop ramp-up/start-up plans in collaboration with project team.
  • Plan, prepare and coordinate operational preparation, pre-commissioning/commissioning, qualification, start-up activities.
  • Develop functional testing procedures and lead commissioning/qualification execution & reporting.
  • Consult and track progress against recruiting, staffing, and training.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in relation to business processes and systems as well as support change management strategies when changes are needed.
  • Ensure operational safety is fully considered and escalate operational risks.
  • Collaborate with project team and operations to ensure line readiness and safety such as FAT, machine risk assessments, site acceptance testing, HECP/LOTO, SHE and QA/food safety planning.
  • Track progress of development and implementation of Key Standard Routines, TPM readiness and 5S.
  • Ensure factory associates are trained and competent to standard prior to start-up.
  • Ensure successful startup and smooth transition to operations.
  • Ensure the achievement of business objectives such as line performance, safety measures and product qualification.
  • Complete a proactive and effective handover of the project to the operational team including proper documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree.
  • 8 10+ years in manufacturing capital project management and change management.
  • Experienced in performing project management functions including scope development, scheduling, budgets, cost control, managing contractors, monitoring the progress, and reporting.
  • Experienced in early management, operations, and/or a startup environment.
  • Food or beverage or consumer packaged goods industry experience is a plus.
