Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Projects Manager to join our team at TechnoSmarts. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing capital projects and initiatives related to manufacturing facility construction, expansion, and equipment upgrades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Support end-to-end project management, including coaching, scope development, risk identification, and key milestone tracking.
  • Facilitation: Facilitate key project workshops, including VSED, kickstart, current operations assessment, project defect analysis, and scope alignment.
  • Operational Requirements: Identify operational requirements and develop success criteria.
  • Budgeting and Scheduling: Provide input to and track operational budget and operational deliverables in project schedules.
  • Start-up and Commissioning: Develop ramp-up/start-up plans, plan, prepare, and coordinate operational preparation, pre-commissioning/commissioning, qualification, and start-up activities.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop functional testing procedures and lead commissioning/qualification execution and reporting.
  • Recruiting and Training: Consult and track progress against recruiting, staffing, and training.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify continuous improvement opportunities in relation to business processes and systems, and support change management strategies.
  • Operational Safety: Ensure operational safety is fully considered and escalate operational risks.
  • Line Readiness and Safety: Collaborate with project team and operations to ensure line readiness and safety, including FAT, machine risk assessments, site acceptance testing, HECP/LOTO, SHE, and QA/food safety planning.
  • Key Standard Routines and TPM: Track progress of development and implementation of Key Standard Routines, TPM readiness, and 5S.
  • Factory Associate Training: Ensure factory associates are trained and competent to standard prior to start-up.
  • Smooth Transition: Ensure successful startup and smooth transition to operations.
  • Business Objectives: Ensure the achievement of business objectives, including line performance, safety measures, and product qualification.
  • Handover: Complete a proactive and effective handover of the project to the operational team, including proper documentation.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree.
  • Experience: 8-10+ years in manufacturing capital project management and change management.
  • Project Management Skills: Experienced in performing project management functions, including scope development, scheduling, budgets, cost control, managing contractors, monitoring progress, and reporting.
  • Industry Experience: Experienced in early management, operations, and/or a startup environment. Food or beverage or consumer packaged goods industry experience is a plus.
