A growing medical device company based in the Los Angeles area is hiring a Senior Healthcare Solutions Architect to lead next generation digital platform development and healthcare IT integration. The company is developing next-generation biometric sensor-based devices for hospital use. The senior leadership team is seeking an expert in technical solutions and integration development within a hybrid cloud environment to work with EMR/EHR systems and cloud platforms (preferably AWS). This role will define future architecture direction across the digital product portfolio, develop roadmaps, and implement cloud-based solutions.
This role will interface with hospital IT executives to understand integration requirements and oversee software development teams to ensure the seamless integration of cloud-based solutions with EHR systems and medical devices. Ideal candidates would have expert knowledge of interoperability between medical devices and healthcare IT.
Responsibilities:
- Define strategic IT capability maps to describe Commercial and Operations Lead-to-Cash process requirements.
- Partner closely with product owners and engineering managers to define roadmaps and sprint planning objectives to meet solution designs.
- Design and development of data integration and migration strategies, HL7 / FHIR, EDI, Web services.
- Provide data integration and API solution designs for on-premises and cloud business applications that meet business requirements.
- Lead and coordinate technical and business discussions on future architecture direction across the product portfolio.
- Review and develop architectural requirements at the domain level within the product portfolio or team.
- Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry, and market trends to support project development and operational activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement well-architected, secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions aligned with industry best practices and healthcare standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR).
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of related experience in a technology-driven development and cloud based architecture role (AWS).
- Hands of experience in Agile methodology and experience in integration API design and development Web Services, JSON - API integration experience includes HL7, EDI, FHIR, etc.
- Expert knowledge of interoperability between medical devices and healthcare IT & EMR/EHR systems.
- Expertise in the software, mathematical, or engineering process operative in the integration, evaluation and commercialization of medical device systems.
- Ability to consult with customers on aligning outcomes with desired technical solutions at an enterprise level.
- Skilled in analyzing, designing, and developing software solution roadmaps and implementation plans.
- Strong experience with cloud architecture and SaaS offerings (preferably AWS).
- Knowledge of AI/ML applications and their relevance in healthcare.
- Expertise in designing and deploying secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions for healthcare workloads.
- Deep understanding of healthcare IT regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR) and familiarity with healthcare applications, medical devices, EMR systems, and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM).
