Position Corporate Health & Safety Manager
Location Moses Lake, WA (Open to candidates across the Southwest, Pacific Coast, preference for candidate in the PNW)
Travel YES; Up to 75% (all expenses covered, per diem provided); Would work remotely when not traveling
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as safety, environmental, science, quality, healthcare or engineering or a qualifying substitution of 8+ years experience in an operational specialist, hazardous materials, or occupational safety discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in safety program management or practical experience working with hazardous materials or waste management, preferably in a remediation or response related environment.
- Maintaining your certification by participating in continuing education and staying up to date with health and safety industry developments.
- Must possess a valid Drivers License and a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report)
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Health & Safety programs and protocols.
- Conducting safety training and awareness programs for employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Perform safety audits and inspections; recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, analyzing their root causes, and recommending preventative measures to avoid further occurrence.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, dot, and other federal/state regulatory standards. support safe Management of hazardous materials, including storage, handling, and disposal.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety.
- Assist with developing and updating of safety management systems, LMS platforms, or client required platforms. (I.E. ISN, AVETTA, VERIFORCE, ETC.).
- Coordinate with emergency response teams and clients to ensure BMPs.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Monitor and help enforce the use of personal protective equipment.
- Write, review, and approve HASPs & SSSPs for projects or operations.
- Maintain knowledge of current safety regulations, industry best practices, and a variety of state-specific rules.
- Prepare and present safety reports to management and employees.
