Under the supervision of the Director of Health and Safety, this position is essential for overseeing various work assignments directly related to Employee Health and Safety Management & Safety Program Management. You will be responsible for planning, training, and developing safety objectives, plans, or assessments for all job sites and employees. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Health & Safety programs and protocols.
  • Conducting safety training and awareness programs for employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Perform safety audits and inspections; recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, analyzing their root causes, and recommending preventative measures to avoid further occurrence.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, dot, and other federal/state regulatory standards.
  • support safe Management of hazardous materials, including storage, handling, and disposal.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety.
  • Assist with developing and updating of safety management systems, LMS platforms, or client required platforms. (I.E. ISN, AVETTA, VERIFORCE, ETC.).
  • Coordinate with emergency response teams and clients to ensure BMP’s.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  • Monitor and help enforce the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Write, review, and approve HASP’s & SSSP’s for projects or operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of current safety regulations, industry best practices, and a variety of state-specific rules.
  • Prepare and present safety reports to management and employes.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as safety, environmental, science, quality, healthcare or engineering or a qualifying substitution of 8+ years’ experience in an operational specialist, hazardous materials, or occupational safety discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant hands-on experience in safety program management or practical experience working with hazardous materials or waste management, preferably in a remediation or response related environment.
  • Maintaining your certification by participating in continuing education and staying up to date with health and safety industry developments.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report).
