DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: The BA Behavioral Specialist is responsible for providing intervention services in the form of screening, assessment, group and individual sessions with court ordered consumers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification with or without an accommodation. The Behavioral Specialist shall perform the following responsibilities without limitation.Perform outpatient intervention counselingPerform emergency screenings, assessments, interventions as neededBe knowledgeable of the Marchman ActFacilitate didactic group sessionsMaintain open communication and respect with referral sourcesPromote substance abuse education in the communityAdhere to intervention protocol as addressed in Chapter 65D-30Assist in networking resources and referral services for consumersMaintain center records in accordance with stated policies and procedures.Maintain consistency and accountability in consumer/contract reporting requirements.Maintain current all staff development requirements for this position.The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.The ability to work collaboratively with others and to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.Willingness to abide by the company's published rules and regulationsCOMPETENCIES: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Motivation (KSAM) required for an employee to be successful. Uses sound judgment in meeting the responsibilities and performing the duties of the position.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education: Valid High School Diploma or GED requiredExperience:Two years' experience working in the substance abuse or related fieldTRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional development may be assigned due to evolution of programs.
