Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with hospital services, medical staff, and administration to ensure the highest level of patient care. This role demands a proactive approach to quality control and performance improvement, especially in the areas of insurance verification and scheduling. Experience with the Epic system and various insurance portals is a must.Key Responsibilities:Answer telephone calls and provide patient assistance in a courteous manner.Verify and update patient personal information accurately.Confirm patient eligibility and benefits, obtaining authorizations/pre-certifications as necessary.Collect co-pays and manage patient billing interactions.Communicate with insurance companies to ensure correct use of CPT and ICD codes.Use various insurance portals (e.g., Pear, Availity, NaviNet, United Healthcare, OneSource, PATS) for verification.Scan paperwork and update the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.Act as a scheduler when needed to manage patient appointments.Requirements:Education: High School graduate or equivalent.Experience:Proficiency in patient registration processes and insurance verification.Extensive experience with Epic and the mentioned insurance verification portals.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with patients, medical personnel, families, and vendors.Familiarity with medical terminology.Organized, with excellent problem-solving, planning, and multitasking abilities.
