Primary Responsibility :Partner with Regional Vice Presidents of Operations, Regional Finance Directors and General Managers to direct successful sales planning, forecasting, strategies and tactics in a designated region/geography. Perform all duties in such a way as to ensure achievement of Regional Revenue and EBITDA goals, New Business development sales goals, targeted Transportation Growth, Critical Site fill, New Site development, Contract Negotiations and Commercialization, while driving client retention and overall satisfaction.Recruit, hire, train and coach high quality Business Development Managers to drive results for each site, district, and ultimately assigned region.What You'll Do :Business Developmento Achieve Region Sales, Revenue and EBITDA and Transportation Growth Goals and Objectives annually.o Develop and drive strategy with the Region VPs and General Managers to up-sell existing accounts.o Identify, develop, negotiate, and commercialize strategic new business opportunities.o Maximize profitability through Yield Management and GRI implementation with existing customer base.o Renew expiring contracts within region a minimum of 90 Days prior to expiration date.o Provide support for all Business Development Manager sales opportunities within region.o Develop and maintain new and expanded business pipeline of opportunities by site.o Accurately forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.o Focus on non-core channels to develop creative solutions for warehouses.o Establish new accounts through territory management, research, cold calling and relationships.o Coordinates proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales.o Implement solution sales, providing a service that is tailor made to the client's needs.o Establish and manage effective programs and presentations in the following areas:o Existing and New account saleso Sales of emerging products and multi-product saleso Value Added Services and Cross Sell Opportunities.o Pro-active competitive strategies and targeted sales campaigns.o Proper use and level of internal sales support.o Management of expenses of the area at a reasonable level.o Additional Duties as requested.Strategic Planning & Market Developmento Develop and Implement Comprehensive Site Plans to drive improvement against bottom 25% of Region.o Understand regional competitive landscape, workforce and pricing strategies.o Identify/build strategic plan for Regional New Site Opportunities (Acquisition, Expansion, or Greenfield).o Successfully Integrate acquired workforce sales professionals into existing Regional BD structure.o Develop specific regional marketing plans to ensure revenue growth in all products and facilities.Customer Retention and Satisfaction -o Conduct formal Quarterly Business Reviews with Region Customers generating $100,000 or more annually.o Communicate Network Optimization, Transportation, and Continuous Improvement Opportunities.o Review and ensure Profile Management Consistency, Volume Guarantees, and Current Rates.Team Management and Development -o Develop ongoing Individual Development Plans for Direct BDM reports.o Work with recruiting to identify and hire top quality talent in the marketplace.o Provide direct Training and Coaching to Region BDM sales team.What Experience and Education You Need :o 10 years of distribution sales experience with a minimum of 5 of field sales management position with increasing responsibilities.o Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing or equivalent training in Business or Sales Management, Masters a plus.o Must have relative industry experience including distribution, warehousing, logistics, transportation, CPG, etc. and understand common business practices and standards.o Effective sales management skills with the ability to develop and manage regional strategies for pipeline development.o Excellent presentation preparation and delivery skills are required including strong PowerPoint abilities.o Proven ability in developing creative solutions for potential and current customers.What Could Set You Apart :o Entrepreneurial approach to responsibilities and selling Americold's services.o Proven Ability to work successfully in Field Based environment.o Must possess solid business acumen, professional demeanor, and presentation style.o Strong time management, communications, decision-making, organization, human relations, presentation, negotiation, training, and mediation skills.o Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in deadline driven, fast paced environment.o Proven business savvy, possess financial acumen and understanding budgeting.o Excellent analytical skills including strong Excel abilities.o Strong ability to form and foster business relationships.o Demonstrate a partnership approach in working with the facilities on selling Americold's services.o Travel Estimated at 50%.Physical Requirements:o Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptionso Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bendingo Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office worko Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks.o May require travel by automobile and airplane for business internal and external meetings.o May required to visit facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing.o Carry related to travel and occasionally lift, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds.o Requires the use of various electronic tools and software (Laptop, iPad, iPhone, SalesForce, Excel, PPT, etc)o Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremeso Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking
