Quality Manager - Kennesaw, GA
NATURE & SCOPE
The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining all facility and product-level certifications. This position will host external audits for all parties, including regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and customers. They will create a schedule and conduct internal audits against each certification and regulation that the company adheres to, which will include conducting at least biannual Mock Recall exercises. This individual will stay up to date on all certification and regulatory requirements and apply this knowledge to approve or deny change control requests for processes, equipment, and documentation. They will conduct approval on validation protocols, SOP's, and forms, and manage the document control and retention programs.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ensure that a document control procedure is adopted to approve, review, and update all changes to critical documents within the scope of the QMS.
Ensure that records are established and maintained to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposition of such records.
Ensure that the performance of the QMS is reviewed at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness. This review means assessing opportunities for improvement and the need for changes to the QMS.
Ensure that all new staff are inducted into the requirements of the QMS related to their own roles and responsibilities. Provide update training as necessary.
Ensure the validation and qualifications programs, procedures, and activities are evaluated against the required standards and guidelines such as NSF, and ISO. Each change control request is re-analysed to the requirements prior to implementation. Conduct review and document approvals on each protocol.
Ensure that top management undertakes periodic but regular assessments of customer satisfaction and that consequent improvements are identified and implemented.
Conduct, host, and review with relevant personnel the internal audits for each applicable regulation and standard. Verify that the QMS conforms to planned arrangements and is effectively implemented and maintained. Ensure that appropriate action is taken when this is not the case.
Host certification, regulatory, and customer audits.
Review and approve controlled documents. Designate as needed for additional approvals required for each.
Manage product-level certifications such as Kosher, Organic, Halal, etc. and ensure continued compliance with each.
Analyze data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made. This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement and from other relevant sources.
Coordinate continual improvements of the QMS, ensuring that evidence of corrective and preventive actions taken are recorded and reviewed.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Education

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or other Life Science from an accredited university

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or other Quality Systems Management role experience in a manufacturing plant.

Specific skills

Strong knowledge of current quality systems requirements and implementation techniques.
Superior communication and analytical skills plus demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.
Customer-advocate to insure on time task completion.
Requires excellent written and verbal communications.
Ability to work successfully in a cross functional matrix. Sales, Marketing, Finance, Quality etc.
Results driven, strong work ethic.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
