Job Description

Join a Leading Team: Estimator for Commercial Demolition and Abatement

We are collaborating with a distinguished company in the construction industry that is looking to add an exceptional Estimator to their team.

This key role involves providing precise cost estimates and budgets for commercial demolition and abatement projects. The Estimator will also handle earthwork and horizontal construction projects, including site and land development, grading, and underground utilities. Responsibilities include analyzing design drawings and contractor proposals, conducting site visits, leading pre-bid meetings, determining the scope of work, and responding to requests for proposals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and budgets for commercial demolition and abatement projects.
  • Analyze design drawings and contractor proposals.
  • Conduct site visits to confirm existing conditions.- Manage earthwork and horizontal construction projects, including site and land development, grading, and underground utilities.
  • Lead pre-bid meetings and determine the scope of work.- Respond to requests for proposals.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of construction management experience, with a minimum of 2 years as a construction estimator, focusing on abatement, demolition, and earthworks (horizontal construction).
  • Excellent takeoff abilities.- Proficiency in reading and understanding contractual plans, specifications, and blueprints, including AIA contracts.
  • Ability to interpret Civil Design Disciplines, such as grading, paving, and infrastructure (wet and dry utilities).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the demolition scope of work, including interior demo, hard demo, saw cutting, and concrete coring.
  • Ability to incorporate project specifications, scope limits, and constraints into pricing.
Technical Proficiency:
  • MS Office Suite
  • Sage Timberline Estimating Software
  • AGTEK - MUST
  • BlueBeam Construction Software - MUST
Skills and Attributes:
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and budgetary knowledge.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional decorum and business maturity.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and organizational and time management skills.
