Description:

Our client seeks a contract resource to act in the role of Disaster Recovery Analyst. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, communicating, and managing the governance and execution of the business continuity disaster recovery management (BCDRM) for NC FAST portfolio. NC FAST is a very large application system comprising of multiple applications with many interfaces and large user base. The application system is in process of migration to AWS cloud.

The objective of the BCDRM program is to support IT systems' resilience and timely IT operations recovery following the occurrence of an outage or major disaster, such as cyberattacks, fires, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, and pandemics that result in a partial or complete disruption of business or IT operations.

The Disaster Recovery Analyst role comprises of activities to ensure that IT service recovery plans are fully developed and achievable by plan owners, support continuity of operations plan (COOP) development and training and provide disaster recovery advising. Duties include risk assessments, business impact analyses, technical requirements gathering, identifying Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), resource requirements, and ensuring that the IT Infrastructure Disaster Recovery Plan supports the respective application/business recovery plans.

This role will provide input on defining evaluation criteria and questionnaires for assessment teams to determine a system's or application's current native recoverability and availability capabilities, provide input on the selection of Enterprise BCDR solution(s) which meets cost and schedule constraints and satisfies recoverability.

Major focus will be directed towards their effectiveness to restore services within the guidelines of the information technology service level agreements. This role functions as the IT disaster event coordinator to help coordinate IT service restoration in a disaster scenario. This role also serves as coordinator for Security incident and software vulnerability mitigation effort.

This position will plan, conduct, and debrief regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, as well as update procedures and plans regularly.

Required/Desired Skills

Experience in conducting risk assessments, business impact analysis, technical requirements gathering, and collaborative development of DR plans - Required - 5 Years

Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan - Required - 7 Years

Solid knowledge and understanding of DR planning techniques and technologies, as well as the methods used to perform risk and business impact analysis - Required - 7 Years

Experience in developing training for subject matter experts on disaster recovery tools, templates, and methodology for plan development - Required - 7 Years

Demonstrated experience of IT knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure and emerging technologies - Required - 7 Years

Proven experience in managing schedules, documentation, communications, and meeting deadlines - Required - 5 Years

Detail-oriented, proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude - Required - 6 Years

Demonstrated inclination for planning strategy and tactics - Required - 6 Years

Ability to analyze problems and determine root cause, generating alternatives, evaluating and selecting alternatives and implementing solutions - Required - 6 Years

Experience in defining, implementing, and enforcing risk-based processes and procedures for responding to disruptions in business or IT operations - Required - 5 Years

Experience in developing risk-based mitigation strategies for networks, operating systems, and applications vulnerability findings. - Required - 3 Years

Reviewing, compiling and tracking vulnerabilities and mitigation steps based on compliance requirement - Required - 3 Years

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel - Required - 8 Years
