GENERAL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Specialist to join our team. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our suppliers' products and processes. This role involves working closely with suppliers to establish quality standards, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions to drive continuous improvement in supplier performance. RESPONSIBILITIES: Supplier Evaluation and Qualification: Assess potential suppliers based on quality criteria, capabilities, and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with procurement, quality, and associated teams to establish supplier quality requirements. Quality Assurance Planning: Develop and implement quality assurance plans for new and existing suppliers. Collaborate with quality to define quality metrics, inspection criteria, and acceptance criteria for incoming components and assemblies. Supplier Audits and Assessments Conduct supplier audits to evaluate adherence to quality management systems, processes, and specifications. Identify areas on non-compliance and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions. Working with vendors to enhance the product process on the job description. Quality Control and Inspection Collaborate with sales and quality to establish inspection plans for incoming components and assemblies. Non-conformance Management Investigate and resolve non-conformances and quality issues with suppliers. Implement corrective actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence. Supplier Evaluation Analyze quality data pertaining to suppliers and create scorecards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality performance. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or higher (Engineering or science field preferred) 2-5 Years of proven experience in supplier quality/mechanical role. Experience with metal, plastic, and electronic suppliers preferred. In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools. Experience conducting suppler audits and assessments. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Teams Must be able to travel internationally (Germany) for training, if needed. Exposure to ISO procedures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or listen, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate quality equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
