If you are looking for your next career opportunity to partner with a compassionate multidisciplinary collaborative team, we have the job for you Job Summary: We are a small children’s acute care hospital focused on treating complex medical conditions, chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities, and abuse and trauma. The person in this position performs routine inpatient and outpatient pharmacy technician duties as generally outlined in the functions below. Essential Staff Pharmacist Functions: Dispensing - 80% Reviews and interprets drug orders and completes or supervises the process of providing medications to the hospital patients, clinic outpatients, and hospital employees Advises or consults with and provides drug information to physicians, nurses, hospital personnel, patients, and patients' families Provides or supervises the production of IV admixtures, chemotherapy admixtures, or other compounded medications, using aseptic technique and following established department policies and procedures Monitors patients' drug therapies for appropriateness, adverse effects, and possible interactions Performs quality assurance monitoring, drug use evaluation, drug therapy monitoring, and floor stock duties as assigned Provides guidance and supervision to Pharmacy Technicians in the joint effort of providing medications and/or supplies to patients and ancillary departments Non-Distributive - 20% Participates in the organization and maintenance of the pharmacy environment and in the management and control of inventory Participates in the training and development of Pharmacy personnel (i.e. pharmacy technicians and new staff pharmacists) Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and in-services Performs quality assurance monitoring which includes: Data collection, assessment, and evaluation Problem identification, resolution, and follow-up Report generation Participate interdisciplinary daily rounds Medication reconciliation review with medical staffs What we need from you: Minimum B.S. in Pharmacy 1-2 year’s hospital pharmacy experience preferred Clinical skills beyond traditional dispensing functions highly valued Current Illinois Registered Pharmacist License Background in pediatric care preferred What you will receive: Competitive Salary Medical, Dental, and Vision Pet Insurance Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Life & Disability Insurance Retirement Savings Plans & Matching Tuition Reimbursement Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Generous Paid Time Off & Holidays Free Parking Free breakfast and lunch on the last Friday of every month Who we are: La Rabida is a place unlike any other.
