POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in managing the Pharmacy Department and supervising staff to deliver pharmaceutical services that align with the mission and vision of our medical center. This position entails performing the responsibilities of a licensed pharmacist.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a master's degree in Pharmacy or a Pharm. D. is required.
A completed hospital pharmacy residency or two to three years of experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital environment is essential.
Strong organizational skills are necessary.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are required to collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare personnel.
A demonstrated understanding of pharmacology and disease management is crucial.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to established Standards of Behavior.
Assist the Director in the financial oversight of the department, including budget development and management.
Contribute to the formulation of both short-term and long-term objectives.
Oversee various personnel functions within the department.
Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained with appropriate scheduling.
Review and authorize timecards.
Participate in the recruitment, disciplinary actions, and termination processes for pharmacists and technicians.
Reassign staff and responsibilities as necessary.
Support the integration of pharmaceutical services to meet the needs of patients, nursing, and medical staff.
Assist in creating orientation and training programs for new employees.
Maintain a core clinical practice area.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Participate in the proper storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals within the facility.
Assist in the review and implementation of Policies and Procedures to meet regulatory and best practice standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
