Great employees are our best investment here at Avera Let us help you keep growing while being a part of the Avera team Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice-President or Pharmacy Director, the Pharmacy Manager oversees the clinical and distributive pharmacy services for the pharmacy in accordance with professional standards, regulatory and licensing agency policies, and federal and state laws related to the practice of pharmacy. The Manager is responsible for maintaining a hiring and retention plan for pharmacy personnel and ensuring that an effective schedule is in place while adhering to the departmental budget. The Manager will actively participate in the appropriate management team(s) to ensure standardization and integration with other areas and facilities. The Manager will also provide leadership or service to various committees of the organization such as Pharmacy and Therapeutics and other medical staff committees as directed. Further, the Pharmacy Manager provides patient care consistent with applicable regulations and the mission of Avera by monitoring and recommending optimal medication therapy, processing patient medication orders, and providing pharmaceutical information to staff and patients related to specific job assignments. The Manager must utilize effective problem solving skills as appropriate and accept personal responsibility and accountability for the patient’s and department’s outcomes. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining pharmacy employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating department performance and implementing appropriate improvement plans; providing employee performance management; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience Doctor of Pharmacy preferred. Completion of ASHP Accredited PGY1 (and PGY2) Pharmacy Residency preferred. Three to five years of pharmacy financial experience preferred. Master’s degree in Business Administration or other applicable Master’s degree preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration Registered Pharmacist in the state of South Dakota required. Registered Pharmacist in additional states may be necessary. Work Schedule Primarily Days with occasional weekend/holiday involvement. #J-18808-Ljbffr
