Location: Wallingford, CT

Job Description:
+ Support the General Accounting functions including sub-ledger reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheets, cost allocations and account reconciliations. Prepares and analyses month-end financial statements.
+ Maintain, update, or re-create standard cost model and work center rates annually, including indirect (Engineering) work centers.
+ Analyze changes in product process flow, raw material, manufacturing methods to determine effects on costs.
+ Monitor and maintain standard costs.
+ Work closely with internal departments on the development of cost models for product pricing and monitoring productivity
+ Review G/L activity of production costs, variances and inventory levels and provide monthly reports to management on product line profitability.
+ Responsible for full range of reporting with respect to product cost, gross margin, and work order variance reports.
+ Analyze inventory reserves for determination of obsolete/ slow moving inventory.
+ Tracks capital spending and administers the fixed assets system.
+ Property Tax reporting.
+ Government survey reporting.
+ Develop and implement procedures and process improvements relative to manufacturing and cost accounting issues.
