Job Description
STRATEGIC ROADMAP
Develop the BI & Analytics roadmap, addressing short, medium, and long-term needs.
Enhance data processes, ensuring understanding of our goals.
Engage with senior leadership to understand and address their BI & Analytics needs.
Stay current with industry trends and latest technologies.
REQUIREMENTS GATHERING/ ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
Acquire in-depth knowledge of our business processes.
Collaborate with partners to define scope and document requirements.
Create high-level architecture documents, translating our needs into comprehensive data models and solutions.
Design an agile, resilient BI & Analytics architecture that integrates with enterprise solutions, focusing on the integration between SAP BW and Snowflake.
Develop data models encompassing transactional and master data across several layers (extraction, harmonization, transformation).
Present architectural proposals and conduct reviews with fellow architects and development teams.
ARCHITECTURE/ DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION
Ensure the BI & Analytics architecture adapts to changing requirements and scalable for future growth.
Implement data governance and security measures to maintain data integrity and compliance.
Design integration solutions that enhance interoperability with other enterprise platforms, ensuring seamless data flow between SAP BW and Snowflake.
Architect and develop complex ETL solutions in BW and HANA Studio.
Integrate Snowflake with SAP BW to use its scalable cloud data warehousing capabilities.
Oversee the creation of development objects, unit testing, and transportation to different environments.
Lead activities such as data modeling, design of ETL processes, database design, configure and use cloud platforms, data governance, solution architecture.
Acquire in-depth knowledge of business processes.
Collaborate with partners to define scope and document requirements.
Identify and document goals in partnership with regional teams.
CREATE/REVIEW DOCUMENTS
Translate Business Scope Statements into High Level Data Models.
Data model both transactional data and master data into extraction layers, harmonization layers and transformations layers
Review detailed design proposals presented and work with development teams.
Review transformations and other ETL required.
Review settings, restricted and calculated key figures.
Review test scenarios for both Unit Testing and UAT.
LEADERSHIP AND COLLABORATION
Manage consultants and team members, extracting and defining best practices, main balance of skillsets, increased productivity.
Set and monitor team goals and performance.
Build relationships with HQ solution, BI and analytics architects.
Review global architecture in close collaboration with HQ. Secure it covers local short-, medium- and long-term needs.
Responsible for the planning, revision and controlling of capital and operational budgets and forecasts for BI reporting.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in SAP BI/BW, with a strong focus on architecture and solution design.
4+ years of experience with tools such as AWS Glue, Snowflake, DataBricks, Alteryx.
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Provide best practice within: BW ETL, Bex Reporting with SAP BW on HANA, BW Modeling in Eclipse, Native HANA via HANA Studio, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Analysis for Microsoft, Snowflake, DataBricks, SNPGlue, Amazon Glue, S/3, Azure.
Experience leading BI programs and developing comprehensive architectures.
Experience managing a budget
Experience leading a team of employees or consultants.
Experience with logical and physical architectural designs.
Experience drawing up design documents using Draw.io, Erwing, Gliffy or similar tools.
Experience with data warehousing principles, ETL processes, and data modeling.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Must be fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $124,000 to $162,000 + cash incentives
Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience.
The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
