Description As a Financial Counselor, you will be responsible for:
* Verifying accurate demographic and financial information
* Reviewing and interpreting insurance benefits
* Providing financial counseling and screening
* Handling charity applications and credit assessments
* Establishing all financial arrangements and refer appropriate cases to other agencies to assist patients with discharge/post hospital care.
* Working closely with Patient Placement, Care Coordination, Social Services, and Patient Business Services to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
* Ability to write concise, grammatically correct reports and correspondence
* Proficient in basic math
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
Salary Range: $30.94 - $44.42/hourly
Qualifications We're seeking an exceptional, self-directed professional with:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proper phone etiquette
* Bilingual English/Spanish abilities
* PC proficiency and basic math knowledge
* Working knowledge of medical terminology
* Understanding of third-party payer relationships as well as relevant state and federal health programs
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to adapt to and implement changing registration procedures
* Independent decision-making skills and sound judgment
* Flexibility in working varied schedules and at a variety of locations when necessary
