About the role:
- The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Director of Human Resources and helps align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. This role serves as a consultant on Human Resource related issues.
- The successful HR Generalist will act as an employee champion and change agent. The role will assess and anticipate HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with the HR department and business management, the HR Generalist seeks to develop integrated solutions.
- The HR Generalist formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
What youll do:
- Design and facilitate Human Resource-centric training programs.
- Assist Director of Human Resources with employee relations and investigations.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field required.
- Proven track record of at least five years in progressive HR experience required.
- Experience with investigations, and employee and labor relations.
- SHRM or HRCI certification desirable.
- Ability to independently investigate, recommend and resolve employee relations issues.
- Must stay current on recent federal, state and case law changes and understand the impact to HR.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact and follow up with all levels of the organization.
