About the role:

  • The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Director of Human Resources and helps align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. This role serves as a consultant on Human Resource related issues.
  • The successful HR Generalist will act as an employee champion and change agent. The role will assess and anticipate HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with the HR department and business management, the HR Generalist seeks to develop integrated solutions.
  • The HR Generalist formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

What youll do:

  • Design and facilitate Human Resource-centric training programs.
  • Assist Director of Human Resources with employee relations and investigations.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field required.
  • Proven track record of at least five years in progressive HR experience required.
  • Experience with investigations, and employee and labor relations.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification desirable.
  • Ability to independently investigate, recommend and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Must stay current on recent federal, state and case law changes and understand the impact to HR.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact and follow up with all levels of the organization.
