Job Title: Estimator (Structural Steel)

GPAC is seeking a full-time Estimator for a client who specializes in structural steel fabrication and erection services. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of Performing Take-Offs & Estimating Structural Steel Fabrication projects such as commercial buildings, misc metals, or other steel structures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects based on project plans, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and material pricing analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bidding purposes.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiate pricing, and finalize bid proposals.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and industry trends relevant to structural steel construction.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets and cost estimates for potential projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in estimating within the structural steel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of AISC structural steel standards and processes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, Tekla Structures is highly preferred 
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
