Meadowthorpe Assisted Living and Memory Care191 Leestown Center WayLexington, KY 40511HousekeeperPosition SummaryThe primary responsibility of the Housekeeper position is to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation for all properties, buildings, equipment and furniture while adhering to all safety codes. The job responsibilities include providing a clean and safe environment for the residents to live in and for staff to work in. You are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Housekeeper Duties:Perform the day-to-day housekeeping functions, as assignedCoordinate daily housekeeping services with direct care staff when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areasPerform assigned tasks in accordance with established housekeeping proceduresAssure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manorFollow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and suppliesAssure that established infection control practices are maintained when performing housekeeping proceduresClean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., as instructedClean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Assure that water marks are removed from fixturesClean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit waysClean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. (Note: Assure that appropriate CAUTION/SAFETY signs are properly setup PRIOR to performing such duties.)Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic linerReport all hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisorAssure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shiftAssure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies is maintained in utility/janitorial closetsAssure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work dayRelationship Duties:Puts Customer Service first; ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the residents needs and rightsDemonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitorsRelate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the communityPosition Requirements:High School Diploma or GEDEffectively communicate in the English language and follow written and verbal instructions6-months experience in a senior community setting (preferred)Physical Demands:It may require exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift/move objectsFunctional requirements include constant standing and walkingFrequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning and stretchingFinger and hand dexterity are requiredMay be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
