As a key member of the senior management team, the Director of Agency Asset Management oversees the Agency portion of a servicing portfolio valued at approximately $52.0 billion, encompassing over 5,200 loans. The portfolio represents a growing segment of the overall corporate business model. This role is pivotal in managing a team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the value of multifamily and commercial real estate properties financed through various programs including FHA/HUD, USDA, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Bridge/structured Finance and various CMBS initiatives. The Director will collaborate closely with internal teams, borrowers, and external stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with loan agreements.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Responsible for overseeing departmental operations, improving productivity, and ensuring overall efficiency and effectiveness in processes. This role involves strategic planning, managing people, and making advanced business decisions.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Lead asset management activities to monitor and mitigate financial, credit, operational, physical, ownership, and market risks associated with the portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with borrowers, guarantors, government agencies, and other industry professionals. Ensure excellent customer service by responding promptly to inquiries and fostering strong partnerships.
  • Risk Management: Collaborate with the Director of Risk and Chief Credit Officer to identify and implement risk mitigation strategies. Oversee property inspections and recommend corrective actions for any issues identified.
  • Financial Management: Manage reserve withdrawals, ensuring compliance and approval for borrower reimbursements. Oversee borrower requests, and other significant financial activities pertaining to the portfolio.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 7 years of relevant experience in real estate asset management, finance, or related fields.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, financial, and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships and interact with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: Extensive experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and HUD programs.
  • Management: Relevant experience managing and developing a team of professionals.
