As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for performing detailed engineering calculations, designing HVAC systems, and integrating technology into our workflow to deliver exceptional service to our clients. You will work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and building managers to ensure the success of our projects.

Role Description This is a Full-time role located in Melville, NY for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing plans and specifications for commercial fit-outs, multi-family building heating systems, hot water heaters, pumps, and HVAC Ductwork. This Senior Engineer must collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and provide customized solutions, and working closely with other engineers to design, and inspect the systems designed.

Qualifications Review and analyze architectural and engineering plans using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software. Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering team to review and provide feedback on drawings and specifications. Perform detailed engineering calculations to support HVAC system design, including heating and cooling load calculations, static pressure calculations, hydraulic head pressure calculations, and other related engineering. Design, size, and layout ductwork and piping distribution systems. Size and select HVAC equipment to support overall design. Perform NPSHA Pump Sizing Calculations. Perform site surveys to obtain in field conditions and measurements. Attend meetings with architects, contractors, owners, and building managers. Organize project engineering data and maintain project records. Prepare HVAC drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. Support construction administration activities by reviewing submittals, Shop Drawings and preparing responses to Requests for Information to provide input as needed. Perform periodic field observation visits to review the progress of construction projects. Review of in-house engineering drawings and provide feedback to engineers. Review of drawings prior to submission for bid and government agency approval.

Education & Qualifications

New Age Engineering PLLC is seeking a motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer with 7+ years of experience in commercial, multi-family and/or hospitality. This individual must have an organized approach to analyzing systems and a thorough understanding of the MEP/FP process.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 7+ years of experience in commercial, multi-family, and/or hospitality building systems design. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit software. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, & Adobe Acrobat). Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Ability to review work done by others and provide professional feedback. Ability and desire to work diligently to meet project deadlines. Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
