Context:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to manage the settlement of financial trades, primarily focused on international markets across Latin America and Europe. The candidate will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and settlement processes. A key aspect of this role will be managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy in trade settlements and troubleshooting issues efficiently. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus, as this position will involve communicating with various stakeholders across different regions and departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely settlement of trades, promptly addressing and resolving any related discrepancies or issues.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of cash positions, security fails, and trade breaks.
  • Facilitate ADR (American Depositary Receipt) conversions when required.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to resolve General Ledger (GL) discrepancies.
  • Develop and deliver custom reports to stakeholders as per their requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, Business Continuity Planning (BCP) testing, and other industry-wide tests (such as SIFMA).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Solid knowledge of international trade settlements, particularly in Latin American and European markets, and a deep understanding of the trade lifecycle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across departments. Fluency in Spanish is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to quickly diagnose issues and devise effective solutions.
  • 1-3 years of experience in trade settlement or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using systems such as Euroclear, Broadridge, Gloss, NETX, Alert, Bloomberg, and advanced Excel skills.
