(see E InkOur Company)And we're looking for a Co-op Prototype Mechanical EngineerThe Co-op will work on a range of special projects for our products includign Advanced Color ePaper, Prism, dynamic windows, autonomous tiles, and other programs.Recent special projects advancements include a collaboration with BMW to enable a color changing concept car (From CES 2023 - the Revolutionary BMW i Vision DEE Color Changing Car Using E Ink Prism 3) and creating customer demos with E Ink JustTintTM variable transmission light control film (E Ink JustTint???????????????? - Bing video).With creativity and urgency, you will drive:Customer demosEngineering samples and prototypes for customers to enable new market adoptionTesting and samples for strategic integrators / partnersElements for marketing promotions: trade shows, events, product showcasesSetup for special projects labPeople who fit this role should be able to:Envision abstract concepts and ideas and convert them into designs aligned to stakeholder needsSolve complex problems using creative design processes and toolsManipulate design elements within a product that carries the intended meaning to consumersCommunicate and synthesize ideas while working in small, multi-disciplinary teamsBackground and Skills:Student enrolled in a Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering, or similar Engineering or Product Design ProgramGPA 3.0 or greaterProficient in CAD/CAM softwareAbility to document new processes for future use by manufacturingSelf-starter, ability to drive progress with minimum oversightAbility to manage challenging and often open-ended problems, work autonomously and in groups and able to multi-task in an agile environmentExcellent communication skills: visual, verbal and writtenLocal addressPreferencesExperience with:3D modeling packages (especially AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS)Electronics troubleshooting and designing circuitsIterative model making using rapid prototyping equipmentFabricating products with lasers and laminatorsAcquiring new skills and capabilities required for problem solvingBenefitsMedical coverage8 hours of ITO (Intern time off) per payrollUnlimited sick time401(k)Hybrid/Flexible work schedule - depending on positionE Ink is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
