This role supports all forecasting, buying, internal and external engagement, and supplier management. In this role, you should have an analytical mind and a strong business acumen. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential. This opportunity also will require you to work cross-functionally to support the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES The Supply Chain Category Planner I primary job responsibilities will include: Analyze supply and demand for a specific product category(ies), minimizing both overstock and out of stock occurrences. Work with overseas suppliers on production plans, product portfolio, pricing, etc. - this role is the main contact for all Alarm.com supply chain communication with specific suppliers. Proactively gather information to make rational forecasting decisions, analyzing those decisions on a consistent basis; identify variances, anomalies in forecast to actual and partner with the appropriate internal and external partners to improve the forecasting process Utilize analysis and inherent knowledge to make inventory purchasing decisions Ability to persuade executive level team of inventory strategy Manage product transitions: Working with suppliers on component lead time, minimum order quantities, and production timelines Work with product managers and marketing on product availability dates Develop forecast and inventory purchase requirements Manage product discontinuations (EOL) to support marketing and product management Responsible for developing and implanting a strategy to minimize inventory obsolescence. Facilitate meetings with the appropriate internal and external contacts of a specific category in order to manage the product line Respond to internal and external contacts using strong communication skills Work cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Legal, Engineering, etc. Look for opportunities to adjust current processes to implement continuous improvement ideas Track and analyze RMA data; working to improve the quality process and reduce RMA rate for assigned product category(ies). Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Mathematics or a related field 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics,or similar role On occasion, ability to work outside of standard business hours with overseas stakeholders as needed Analytical mindset with a problem-solving aptitude Excellent communication skills Self-starter who is able to operate independently Team player with a positive attitude and high degree of flexibility Working knowledge of MS Office, with strong Excel skills Experience with MicroStrategy and Avercast a plus WHY WORK FOR ALARM.COM?
