Oregon, United States ThinkShout Full time

We are ThinkShout, a Portland-grown, certified B Corp dedicated to delivering exceptional web development, design, user experience, and strategy to the nonprofits and forward-thinking organizations that inspire us. While we’re based in Oregon, most of us work remotely from all over the country. We love building beautiful solutions for the organizations that inspire us, including websites for the World Resources Institute, Amnesty, and Freedom House. Our team brings exceptional web development, design, UX and strategy skills to the work we do on both new and existing sites. Our culture encourages growth, doing the right thing, and collaborating with the team to make good solutions into great ones. This is a place where you’ll find interesting puzzles to solve and a team that cares about building the right thing. We work primarily with nonprofits, and use technology to create positive impact locally, nationally and around the world. We take pride in the work we do, and care about the people impacted by the things we build. We seek a highly skilled web performance analyst contractor with expertise in Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. You will configure, manage, and optimize Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics implementations to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of website performance metrics. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in customizing Google Tag Manager tags with custom parameters and the ability to debug and test tags to ensure seamless data streaming into Google Analytics 4. This role will collaborate with client and production team members to gather tracking requirements and translate them into Google Tag Manager configurations and measurement plans. Our hope is that you stay up-to-date with industry best practices, trends, and advancements in web analytics so you are able to proactively recommend optimizations to clients. What You'll Be Doing: Google Tag Manager Custom Configurations: Configure and manage Google Tag Manager (Google Tag Manager) accounts, containers, tags, triggers, and variables to meet specific tracking requirements. Using JavaScript and HTML, develop custom Google Tag Manager tags to track user interactions, events, and conversions on web pages. Implement advanced tracking features like cross-domain tracking, enhanced e-commerce tracking, and custom dimensions/metrics in Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager. Configure and customize Google Analytics 4 (GA4) properties, events, and parameters to effectively track user interactions, events, and conversions. Testing and Troubleshooting: Thoroughly test and debug Google Tag Manager tags to ensure accurate data collection and prevent data discrepancies. Provide recommendations to improve tracking. Monitor and analyze Google Tag Manager data to identify tracking issues, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization. Developer Collaboration: Work closely with developers to implement data layer specifications and ensure seamless data flow between the website and Google Tag Manager; familiarity with CSS and Javascript is a bonus with this technical support. Documentation & Training: Create and maintain documentation for Google Tag Manager configurations, tagging strategies, and tracking implementations Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on Google Tag Manager usage, troubleshooting, and best practices. Reports & Data Visualization: Develop and implement custom reports in GA4 to provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), user behavior, and conversion pathways. Create new dimensions and parameters in GA4 to capture specific data points relevant to business goals and objectives. Utilize explorer reports in GA4 to visualize and explore data trends, patterns, and anomalies for deeper insights into website performance. Interpret user journey stories using GA4 to understand how visitors navigate through the website, identify drop-off points, and optimize conversion funnels.

What We're Looking For: Proven experience working with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics in a professional capacity. Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for developing custom Google Tag Manager tags and implementing tracking solutions. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and troubleshoot tracking issues effectively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with different teams. Experience in presenting reports and strategic recommendations to clients Familiarity with other web platforms (e.g. Looker Studio Dashboard, Big Query, SEMrush, Google Search Console) is a bonus. Google Analytics certification is preferred but not required. Based on expertise and experience, the hourly range for this contractor role is $85-$105/hr. How to Apply: Please submit a resume (no more than 2 pages) in PDF format and if applicable, include links to your online presence, portfolio, or personal website. We request that you do not submit a cover letter. In its place, we have a few questions for you to answer in the job application. These questions help us learn more about you and are an integral component of the interview process. If you are selected to move forward, you can expect a 20-min interview with our VP of Product Design. Equal Opportunity Employer:

At ThinkShout, we're committed to diversity and inclusion. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life. ThinkShout is made up of people with a variety of backgrounds and lifestyles. We are honest and recognize that our company isn’t as diverse as it should be. We’re trying to change that. If you aren’t sure whether you qualify, please apply anyway. We would much prefer to have an extra application to consider than for you to screen yourself out. We don't discriminate against employees or applicants based on gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, age, national origin, citizenship, disability, pregnancy status, veteran status, or any other differences.
