Our programs support entrepreneurs around the world, creating lasting change from the ground up.It begins with a seed investment of livestock or agriculture, followed by mentorship to help project participants build a business, and ultimately to gain access to supply chains and markets.BACKGROUND:Passing Gifts Private Limited (PGPL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Heifer International USA and it provides services in educating, consulting, training, advising, and providing professional and technical services to individuals, associations, and entities in India and abroad, particularly those who support or are working in the areas of social advancement and sustainable development. disability.FUNCTION:The Project Officer Agriculture will lead Passing Gifts project activities on connecting the producer-owned cooperativesandself-helpgroupswithfinancialinstitutions.S/hewillleadthedevelopmentandexecutionof the overall strategic vision, goal, and objectives of the access to the finance component.RESPONSIBILITIESANDDELIVERABLES:(includingapproximatepercentageeffort)Sustainable agriculture practices (30%)Providetechnicalsupportinrolloutandeffectiveimplementationoftheagriculturalextensionmodelin the project.Establishandleadmarketresearchtocontinuouslyevaluatethebusinessenvironmenttorefinethemodel.Leadexecutionoftheextensionmodel,includingon-the-groundset-upofoperations,developing relevant relations with ecosystem actors, and effective flow of products and services.Exerciseoversightontheoperationsofthemodel,withafocusonquality anddiversificationofproducts and services, capacity building, and scale up in promoting sustainable agriculture systems.Developentrepreneursaspertheobjectivesoftheproject.Focusoncashcrop/spicespracticesandbuildskillsofthefarmers.PromoteamodelkitchengardeneffectiveattheFPO/farmerlevel.PromoteproductbusinessesattheFPO/farmerlevel.Optimize Agricultural practices in the Project (30%)DevelopapackageofpracticesinconsultationwithStateAgricultureUniversitiesandKVKsand disseminating the same in the project area.Conductcropmodeling,soilmapping,andweathermodelingAdoptionofimprovedagriculturepracticesPrepareandconductadvisorysessionsandtrainingforfarmers,policymakersandotherstakeholders.Trainingdesign,developmentanddelivery;conductlearningsessionsprovideregularcoachingand support during the action period for implementing.Analyzeagriculturaldataandreportonfindings.MaintainrecordsofagriculturalyieldsandservicesMakepresentationstofarmers,livestockproducers,andagriculturebusinesses.Analyzesoilcompositionasitrelatestoplantgrowth.Beactivelyinvolvedinpracticesrelatedtowastematter,increasedproductionandirrigationpracticesPromoteorganicagricultureacrosstheprojectareaandworkonClusterIdentification,DiagnosticStudy,Feasibility Analysis, Base Line assessment, mobilization of farmers, Business Planning for FPOs Formed,assessment.SupportFPOsandpartnersineffectiveimplementationoftheprojectandachievetheprojectobjectives(15%)Assistprojectpartnersinvarioustraining,farmersfieldtrips,exchangevisits,studyreports.Assistprojectpartnerintheimplementationoftheprojectactivities.Assistprojectpartnertoensurequalitypassingonthegiftsandotherresources.AssistthepartnerintheimplementationoftheexponentialPOGwithquality.Assistprojectpartnertodevelop/producemarket-orientedqualityproductsAssistpartnerinfollowingPMD-protoolsandframework.Reporting, Documentation, and Liaising (10%)Liaiseandnetworkrelevantlinedepartments,KVKs,andstateagricultureuniversitiesatvillageand block for leveraging resourcesPrepareofficialdocuments,reports,periodicstatementsandMISReportsforeachprojectandproactive communication with all stakeholdersCreateagri-businessplansforthefarmers,facilitatebankandmarketlinkageSupportmonitoringandevaluationoftheeffectsandimpactoftheprojectContributetoProgramandProjectdesignandstrategicdiscussionsLiaison, networking, and collaboration with line agencies (10%)Coordinatewithotherstakeholdersandbuildafruitfulrelationshipwiththem.PromotionofcrosslearningandexchangeoftheknowledgeSupportthepartnersinthemobilizationofthecommittedco-funding(CatalyticalLeverageFunding)May perform other job-specific duties as assigned (5%)QUALIFICATIONSANDSKILLS:A bachelors degree in agriculture related field, having experience in planning and implementing agriculturaldevelopmentand/orlivelihoodrelatedinitiativesatthefieldlevelandminimumoffour(4) years of experience, ORAmastersdegreeorequivalentfromarecognizeduniversityinthefieldsofAgricultureEconomics, Business Administration, Rural Development, Enterprise Development or other related field and minimum of two (2) years of experience.Experiencewiththecommercialsector,agribusinessdevelopmentinamixofeconomicgrowth/trade, value chain competitiveness, investment promotion, or agriculture development is added advantage.PlanningandManagement,Agriculture,Agribusiness,orotherrelevantqualificationisanaddedpreference.ExperienceinworkingwithFPOsandtheirbusinessesishighlyrecommended.Clearunderstandingofgoat,backyardpoultry,vegetable,andagri-productvaluechains.Innovative,analytical,andsolutions-orientedmindset.Knowledgeofenterprisedevelopmentandlinkagestopovertyalleviation.ESSENTIAL
