As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Accounting Manager to join our finance team and support our mission.
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable function and managing the accounting team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of accounts payable processes, as well as supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Management:
Oversee the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor payments, while maintaining adequate liquidity.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all accounts payable transactions, including proper coding, approval, and documentation.
Implement and maintain controls to prevent errors, fraud, and duplicate payments.
Resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
Team Leadership/Management:
Lead, supervise and mentor the accounting team, including accounts payable staff and other accounting personnel.
Provide direction, guidance, and support to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Delegate tasks effectively, monitor workloads, and ensure deadlines are met.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for training and development.
Financial Reporting & General Accounting:
Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting (as needed).
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data related to accounts payable transactions and GL transactions.
Collaborate with other departments to reconcile accounts payable-related accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Provide insightful commentary and recommendations based on financial analysis to senior management.
Reconcile certain balance sheet accounts (Account Recons) and make appropriate journal entries.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes and improve efficiency.
Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize workflow and reduce cycle times.Leverage technology and automation tools to enhance accuracy and productivity within the accounts payable function.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filing requirements, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax.
Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors as needed to facilitate tax planning and compliance.
Audit Support:
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during financial audits.
Prepare audit schedules and support documentation and respond to auditor inquiries in a timely manner.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with experience in a healthcare or medical waste industry preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing a team and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
