.The Pastry Cook is in a very precise position. You are executing recipes for all the outlets and plating banquets while maintaining a clean workstation. You're very driven by fresh local food and want to be a part of creating the next best thing.

Our Food and Beverage areas are sure to impress This won't just be a restaurant or a hotel banquet operation. It will be a culinary hub for gatherings and entertaining.   • Taste, Taste, Taste It all starts here. You will be responsible for preparing recipes that goes to all the outlets making sure that every time it tastes the same, so we have consistent product. All in all, just make sure it's delicious
  • The art of baking and pastry is all about being exact. If you are a little off in your measurements it could make a big difference in the final products
  • Communication is key You are the first line; everything comes from you if we are low on something let us know. Being able to listen and adapt is very important. Having a team that can communicate with one another is the heart of any organization
  • Clean and organized You are Mr. Clean making sure that we are following heath codes is important. We want to make it a clean safe work environment. Sanitation buckets always. You love fresh product and so does the guest, a sharpie and a label are your new best friend
  • Teamwork Yes, that right we are a working family. We rely on each other day in and day out. You treat everyone with respect both back and front of the house. If someone needs help, help them
WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For)
  • You must have at least 1-2 years of Pastry experience
  • Great team player with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group
  • Ability to adapt to change in menus and concepts
  • Strong communication skills to all team members
  • Be able to use metric measurements
  • Can build cakes and plate banquets
  • Creativity and innovation are essential
  • Product knowledge, yeah you must know what you are talking about. If you don't know it, you research it

  • You must know weights and measurements

  • Candidates must think on their feet and use their initiative to solve problems and deliver solutions
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures. The kitchens need to be clean, organized, and sanitary. Proper temperature procedures are always in place

MUST HAVE'S
  • Use all tools associated with the position including but not limited to knives, slicers and choppers
  • Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation
  • Inspect quality of all food items
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Move effectively and efficiently throughout work areas
  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active SNHD Food Handlers card with a minimum of six months before expiration
  • Previous experience as a prep cook or equivalent
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs, carry and balance plates, carry kegs, wine and beer cases as necessary
  • Stand for periods of 8-10 hours
  • Communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Bend, squat and stretch in areas of limited space to perform cleaning, organization, and other duties
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, smoke, and sound. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken
