Your Job

Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) Equipment Technology and Services (ET&S) business platform is seeking a Senior Buyer for its Combustion Americas team in Tulsa, OK. As a Senior Buyer, your role is pivotal in ensuring the profitable execution of projects by effectively managing the procurement of raw materials and commodities. You will work closely with a diverse group of stakeholders and third parties to cultivate relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee supplier performance.

Our Team

You will be a part of the Combustion Americas team within ET&S. Working closely with product management, manufacturing, engineering, global commodity, and warehouse departments. The team is dedicated to ensuring that the right parts are delivered at the right time to support customer needs and project profitability.

What You Will Do

•Cultivate relationships with suppliers.
•Negotiate contracts.
•Have familiarity with Steel commodity standards used in industrial applications, including stainless and carbon steel.
•Build and develop a sustainable network of mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
•Coordinate with product management, manufacturing, and warehouse departments.
•Ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of inventory.
•Implement tools to improve procurement efficiency and support customer schedules.
•Oversee suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
•Minimize variances and defect material issues, support quality improvements.
•Build a commercial framework for contract negotiation and supply risk management.
•Track and report on industry/commodity indexes and share knowledge with product management and estimation teams.
•Ensure system data integrity and utilize system tools in planning, procurement, contracts, and supplier relationships.
•Understand metal commodities, fabrication processes, engineering design, and material applications in industrial settings.
•Monitor and expedite deliveries for assigned commodities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience negotiating contracts, manage supplier agreements, and supplier relationships.
• Sound knowledge of raw materials used in industrial fabrication of metal combustion equipment.
• Experience analyzing data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.
• Familiar with MRP or ERP systems.
• Understanding of the global commodities network and the supply base.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years' experience in a global commodity role with an industrial equipment or automotive industry.
• Experience with demand-driven operating models and ERP systems.
• Experience in designing and applying supplier relationship management strategies.
• Proven experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain directly related to raw materials used in the fabrication of industrial equipment.
