The Role: Orrick has an exciting opening for a Proposal Specialist who is ready to be challenged and build a career within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm. This hybrid position will be based in any of Orrick's U.S. offices (Austin; Boston; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Seattle; Washington DC; or Wheeling, WV) with consideration given for 100% remote US locations. What will I do? In this role, you will provide direct support to our Marketing Team and lawyers in the execution of client-focused opportunity responses for our Transactional practices, including Tech & Innovation, Energy & Infrastructure, and Finance sectors. You will also have the chance to support client opportunities across our Litigation, IP, and SAGE practices on occasion. Your responsibilities will include: Leading pitch, proposal, and RFP response drafting and coordination in collaboration with lawyers and staff. Analyzing and reviewing practice marketing collateral to ensure brand and messaging alignment. Maintaining and organizing marketing materials within the department's materials library. Tracking the status of existing opportunity responses and managing opportunity data for assigned pitches, proposals, and RFPs. Reviewing current experience related to assigned practices areas, ensuring its inclusion in core materials. Covering tight turnaround proposals within the required timeframes and meeting deadlines, including flexibility for after-hours and occasional weekend responsibilities. Participating in pitch debrief sessions to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement. Developing and owning specific P&P functions, as assigned by the P&P Managers. Qualifications: Four-year degree in Communications, English, or other writing-intensive fields preferred. Strong writing skills with the ability to craft a compelling story within a sales context. Applicants will be required to provide writing samples. Excellent word-processing skills are necessary; very high proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
