The Grant Specialist performs state and federal grant research, writing, and assure proper submission of grant applications by established deadlines. The GS is expected to work in collaboration with Directors and Managers to assure YSS is implementing grant as approved in accordance with contract and Statement of Work. The Grant Specialist will work closely with Directors and Managers to assure that systems are in place to gather necessary reporting information. The GS will work closely with CEO and CFO to track, monitor and assure timely submission of all program and financial reports. This position will work with state and federal funders to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships. The GS will ensure compliance with safe work practices and maintain safe environments with established agency standards, licensing regulations and generally accepted practices.Duties and Responsibilities: Develop effective state and federal grant proposals, monitors and meets deadlines, as well as, presents reports based on the organizational needsPersuasively communicate organization's mission and programs to potential funders and stakeholders Understand the need of the organization and perform relevant research for new grant opportunities and evaluate the resultsDevelop core grant writing components to support grant writing applications and submissions Submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets and presentationsEnsure the grants are implemented in accordance with agency policies, licensing regulations, operational and financial needs of the organizationIdentify and develop strategies to optimize the grant administration processWork with Dir. Of Development to ensure acknowledgment of funders/investors via website, e-newsletter, and social mediaPrepare budget plans and allocations along with the finance department in accordance with grant requirementsAssist the Finance Department with the preparation and submission of reports to maintain grant compliance Analyze the budget trends and make recommendations for budget adjustments Monitor and maintain funder reporting schedules and requirements Work collaboratively with Directors and Managers to assure proper documentation for reporting as required by grantee timelines. Education and Experience: Requires minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Human Service field, Education, Communication, Journalism with 5+ years of proven experience in state and federal grant research, writing, reporting, and administrationMust have valid driver's license and auto insurance as required by law
