Position Summary

The Shared Services Center Specialist will perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables data.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Process customer payments using the various state portals.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Responds to customer requests for information.
  • Updates the payment portals at least weekly.
  • Performs follow-up on aged customer accounts.
  • Works with customers and internal teams on open invoices and to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Reviews customer contracts and updates the system according to terms.
  • Assists with the creation and distribution of quarterly and annual reports.
  • Set-up and update leases in the AS400 system as needed.
  • Ensures product support has the available distributor leases.
  • Ensures all processes are documented and updated regularly.
  • Works closely with the Director of Shared Services to keep apprised of any issues encountered, process improvement suggestions, etc.
  • Ensures proper recordkeeping and will assist in data collection for audit purposes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Experience and Education
  • 3+ years of accounting experience. Advanced educational training is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and report progress.
  • Maintains confidentiality of corporate and shareholder information.
  • Skilled with MS Office and accounting systems. AS400 experience a plus.
  • Familiar with contract language and analysis.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, month end process, etc.
